Yoga and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and here at Yoga Anytime we recognize and appreciate the many benefits that yoga and meditation can have on not only our overall well-being, but specifically in our healing journey.

About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Research in breast cancer patients has shown that yoga can help reduce fatigue and stress, and improve physical functioning, sleep, and quality of life.

Yoga Anytime teacher Cheri Clampett, in her show Therapeutic Yoga, offers practices to balance our nervous system, promoting deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing.

Yoga for Healing

In the below talk Cheri has a conversation with Jodi and Francine about their journey through cancer. Together they discuss how to work with common emotions that arise in the body, like anger and sadness, and how yoga has been instrumental on their path of acceptance, healing, and wholeness.

Yoga for Breast Cancer

Cheri, with the help of Francine, guides us in a gentle therapeutic sequence for breast cancer patients. Whether you've been recently diagnosed, are undergoing treatment, or are recovering, Cheri offers modifications that will bring you into a state of deep relaxation, ease, and comfort. She closes with a guided meditation, inviting a new level of health, wellness, and healing into the body.
