We love Padma's tender vulnerability and willingness to surrender. Her rich understanding of the body reflects her personal journey of healing and wholeness. As a yoga instructor and massage therapist, the complexity of anatomy and love of movement have been her inspiration. She believes that precise movement creates a quality of clarity in the mind and allows for reflection and depth in our own lives.
Padma discovered yoga as a cure for insomnia while living in the bustle of New York City. She has studied at the Integral Yoga Institute, Jivamukti Yoga Center, Om Yoga Center, Iyengar Yoga Institute of Greater New York, Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy, and Institute of Self Healing. Her teachers have included Ranjani Cobo, Cyndi Lee, Carrie Owerko, Patricia Walden, and Rodney Yee.
Padma has been been teaching yoga for more than fifteen years. Her private practice incorporates a blend of healing modalities including therapeutic yoga, massage, structural integration, and meditation. Padma teaches Iyengar-inspired classes at Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor, New York, where she is currently honing the art of stillness in motherhood.
