(waves crashing) Back pain is awful and common, and the causes are many and mysterious. Your low back might be hurting because you sit in a chair or car all day. It might be hurting because you're exercising too much or too little, it might be hurting because of the shoes you wear, it might be hurting because you haven't said what needs to be said in your primary relationship. It could be hurting because you're not doing what you really want to be doing. It's multiple and many things can contribute to low back pain.
Our time together in this first season is not about trying to diagnose the cause of your back pain, only you can really identify that, which will be a moment of spontaneous insight and clarity. What we're gathering here to do is try to find out what perhaps, maybe, might offer some relief in the meantime. And so these episodes are designed to be short and concise and offer a different variety of tools and techniques that have been tried and tested amongst ourselves and with many friends, and we're hoping that you might find at least one, maybe two, that help you feel better, because it's really difficult to be on your heart's path when you're in a great deal of pain. So the encouragement here is to let yourself drop in, try these practices, and by all means, please, as you're trying to find relief, let yourself move tenderly, gently, and bravely into the parts of you that are crying for attention. So happy to be here together.
