(waves crashing) Namaste. Welcome back to this understanding of powerful seed sounds also known as the bija mantra. In our previous episode we looked at one of the most powerful sounds of creation, the Om and the Aum. While these two sounds represent this energy in its unmanifest form, the sound Aim that we will explore in this episode represents the manifest energy in creation. The Aum is the unmanifest potential, and Aim is its manifested form.
The sound Aim therefore is also known as the sound of the Divine Mother, the divine energy of creation. It is a sound that the more we practice it helps to cultivate in us learning, communication skills. Because of the presence of the I in this word, it helps to strengthen our willpower and achieve whatever goal we seek in our lives. The sound Aim, a combination of A, expansion, I, willpower, and M, establishment, is one that helps us integrate all these different aspects and become more wise, be more expressive in what we want to convey, clear our mind and bring in a focus of an intention in our speech. Physiologically it is also very beneficial because it clears the lungs.
It also strengthens the voice and the vocal cords. We can see how in many ways this sound Aim, which is the sound of the Goddess or the feminine energy, is a sound that can not only empower us but make us effective in expression. Let's practice that. I would suggest that we do it with a gesture of expansion, I and then M. All right?
With the A, you stretch your hands out to the side. With the I, you bring it together with your hands straight til your palms join. Then with the M, bring the palms back to your heart center. Yes? Sit comfortably, take a deep breath, and join me as we do the Aim.
(inhaling) (slowly chanting Aim) Once more. (inhaling) (slowly chanting Aim) As an alternative, you can even spread your hands sidewards and then take it over your heads in a straight manner and then bring them down to your chest with your palms together. We'll do that a last time because doing these sounds at least thrice is said to relate to the fact that we have a physical existence. Then there is a subtle level of our existence, and there is a higher spiritual level of our existence. When we say a sound three times, it is almost as if you're establishing that sound at the three levels of our being.
We've done it twice and we'll do it a last time but involving the vertical space, bringing it down with our intention. To strengthen this practice, you could add a strong visualization of what is it you would like to achieve in your life. Hold that image as concretely as you can, and then do the sound Aim. We'll do it together a last time. Take a deep breath.
(inhaling) (slowly chanting Aim) May the practice of this sound bring all the wisdom and power of expression in your life.
