Jani guides us in a ujjayi pranayama tutorial of the "Great Sound" or Mahavakya Ujjayi. We work with moving the vibration of the breath from the throat to the perineum and explore the practice both on its own and within Sirsasana (Headstand).

(waves crashing) And our fourth ujjayi is called maha vakya. Maha means great and vakya means sound. This is the ujjayi that actually, actually when it comes from the, sound is generated on the maha vakya then that is on the anandamaya level, that's the sthula. Sound coming from the level of the self. So support here is now ardha tha.

So the support for this breathing is the half passive. So breathe passive way, breathing is passive, control is in the dome of the diaphragm. First feel the physical sound of the ujjayi, slightly contract the windpipe so that you can feel the sound. Don't squeeze, same time keep your throat open and relaxed. And then use the saranagathi yoga.

So develop desire to move that energetical sound vibration from the throat center to the perineum. Kandasthana, bottom of the pelvis. So that the energetical foundation source of the sound is the perineum. From there, it moves to the throat, to the kantakupha, pit of the throat and then the center of the throat, which is the vishuddi. And then hear the sound through the breathing.

Then the asana group for this ujjayi is maha vakya ujjayi is inversions ones. So we're gonna do the headstand. So come on your floor, and then cross the arms, interlace the fingers, tuck toes in, and then head down, take a couple of steps forward and then bend the knees and lift the legs up. Tuck tailbone down, take the upper arms out, lifting your heel up, and now shift the focus on the breathing. So breathe passive way without trying to directly control the breathing, but create stillness to the dome of the diaphragm.

And then try to feel the ujjayi in your throat. And from there, develop the desire to move the ujjayi energetical vibration of the ujjayi to the perineum where it originates. four more breaths. And then exhale, slowly come down. You can stay in balasana a couple of breaths.

And then inhale, come up. This was maha vakya ujjayi bhedana, our last fourth ujjayi. Thank you.
