The initial homework assignment was to meditate comfortably in bed. Now Erich invites us to start meditating "officially" at some point throughout the day. He instructs us to park it, sit-up straight, and find our stillness. He then invites us to "relax, breathe, and pay attention to your actual now experience."

okay so let me more officially now assign a homework and whether you choose to accept to do it to do it or not it's up to you but it's a good suggestion the initial homework was meditate in bed remember right a.m. p.m. unless you don't want to do it but it's a good idea drag yourself up to a seated position put 10 pillows behind you lean back and just relax enjoy the experience that was the first homework the homework now that I wanted is more officially what's the word assign is like meditate officially at some point in the a.m. and then again at some point in the p.m. like actually like sit down on a chair on a zafu on the floor practice sitting as straight as you can you can do it kneeling you can do a cross-legged you can do it like this you should have like ten different ways of doing it but like where you're teaching yourself to have your spine nice and straight because the straighter your spine is the less structural sprint strain there will be the more comfortable you'll be for the longest duration and like just train yourself to park and learn to sit absolutely still remember not like you're in a straight jacket not like you're held not like you can't move but because it's so cool that when you're super relaxed and you're not moving you just really start feeling the energy that constitutes you practice sitting absolutely still without holding yourself still and just ride the ripple of your breathing pay attention to what's going on now an interesting thing about breathing is that signals from your brain go to the diaphragm and the diaphragm contracts moves down your lungs expand your belly expands and then it goes the other way the first movement of your breathing will be felt right around here like the movement of the diaphragm like right near your heart chakra and so as you sit quietly super relaxed without holding yourself still and you pay attention to the ripple of your breathing at first you'll feel the ripple many places but start find tracing yourself back to the source of the ripple which will be right around your heart chakra you'll feel the ripple rippling out and coming back and by finding the source of the breathing it directs your attention to this area of your field heart you'll start feeling the love more easily and then Wow love being the energy won't feel like just a head trip it'll feel like oh man I'm starting to get what that means really and what's interesting about this is once you start feeling the love that you're made out of then it won't matter that you weren't loved as much as you should have been when you were a kid the fact that you didn't get it then doesn't matter now and if you're still pissed off at your parents for not doing it as well as they could have then you're depriving yourself of what's available and so as you start feeling the love which is freely yours you'll find yourself letting everyone off the hook for not loving you as much as they should have it feels good to be letting other people off the hook they'll like it too okay and part of it is just doing the meditation you start feeling it but I'm saying this and part of me is not wincing but part of me is going yeah but yeah but yeah but because don't go in there with too many ideas about what you're supposed to experience don't sit there and think well I'm not feeling the love I'm not feeling the love you know just get there and park and relax and pay attention to your actual now experience that is such a cool awesome instruction relax breathe pay attention to your actual now experience and that'll take you into whatever the truth happens

thank you for bringing up the fact of letting people off the hook for not loving me enough that is so huge!!! alot of wasted time of my life on holding on to that ! Now i can have that be the goal of this whole meditation thing feeling that love!!!
