What I call practice, and very often the space that I find for myself that is practice is my yoga practice, my meditation practice, movement, breathing, relaxation, focus. Sometimes those things present themselves in my cooking practice or my parenting practice, in my practice of being in nature or with friends. Here at Yoga Anytime, the effort of these practices that we have to do together is to give us specific ways to step in. It's so easy to be caught up in what it looks like and how it feels from the outside. What I want to offer are some tools and some specific knowledge that hopefully will help you to connect to your experience and to your practice of being present.
Specifically, I'm going to do some work around the energy centers, working from the bottom up, so working from Ludhara Chakra, through Svadistana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha, Ajna, and Sahasrara. The work around these energy centers for me is not really about their esoteric qualities. I'm interested in the relationships with the physical self in how we embody our bodies. Feeling for and relating to a more subtle form inside of our more gross active form that we generally relate to is one of the ways, along with knowing about muscles that are near the center of ourselves, understanding the structure of the pelvis, doing breathing practices. For me, it's all about how we can soften into the experience of what is already here.
I hope that somewhere in these practices, you can find pieces, techniques, little bits of understanding that let you feel like they're yours, that they're your practice. Thanks for being here.
