Hey there Suzanne C !! Thanks for connecting and sharing your experience here! Falling forward on ones face is a very common fear - rightfully so! Starting with your head down on bolster first is a wonderful option, I'm glad it's helped, good idea! As for the wrists - also common to be an issue or feel uncomfortable. Sometimes elevating the wrists/heel of palm a bit can take to intense flexion from wrist - could be helpful. Also, just like anything I suppose, the more you do it and practice and do specific wrsit drills, the discomfort over time might diminish.
