Season 1 - Episode 4

Day 2: Judgment & Comparison

55 min - Practice
40 likes

Description

Judgment and comparison can rob of us our joy. In Day 2, we will move through a vinyasa flow practice to invite fluidity to the body, mind, and heart. We move through Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations), standing postures, arm balance play, and hip openers to build strength and flexibility and invite in discernment and understanding. Together, lets honor our internal light and wisdom.

In Chapter 2 for our talk and coaching exercise, we dive deeper into the themes of judgement and comparison so that we can begin to turn the lens inward to create more understanding and freedom in our lives.

Mia, thank you for this enlightening practice. I teach 2nd grade and even at 7 years old the judging of one another causes more conflict in the classroom than anything else and something we have been working on all year. I need to weave more yoga teachings into my lessons this week. Thank you!

Hi Cindy,

What an important job you have. Teaching the little ones to understand rather than judge will serve them so well. Thank you for tuning in and bringing your wisdom into the work that you do. :)

So why are people so challenging with each other ?
When I think I'm a good person but still judge people
Constantly which is not what I want . When people want validation or self
Worth or is it ego not enough compassion for my fellow brothers and sisters its does seem hard dealing with how life can be very challenging and
Sometimes yoga does not work the other day a bike ride was much better for me and yoga seems to make me emotive at times why is that ?dealing with a stressed mind without using abusive substances. Well your class enjoyable. I do feel good now cheers .

Thanks Mia. I felt my creativity levels flowing freely and you gave my body the wisdom to judgement and comparision. "The issues are in the tissues" This practice gave me an insight into letting go of my shadow influences by facing them with love compassion and understanding rather than running away and finding an escape. Shanti. Namaste.

Hi Glenford,

Love the "issues are in the tissues". :) Yes if we stand in that space of understanding then we can meet our challenges with courage and find the wisdom. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Peter,

There are so many ways tp practice yoga, sometimes a bike ride is just what we need to get perspective. Yoga allows us to see what we need to reconcile judgement within ourselves to live in more freedom and understanding. definitely takes work, it can be messy business in earth school. :)

cheers,

Thank you for this lovely practice! Your language is so well chosen and helped loosen the mental blocks while loosening the hip blocks! 🙏

HI Wendy,

Aaahhh those mental blocks can be stubborn. ;) As we loosen the hip blocks, everything seems to melt open. It is such a process. Enjoy your journey. Thanks for dropping in wth me.

I find it reassuring to hear your honest reflections on postures you find frustrating. I really loved hearing you say yesterday that you have realised that eagle legs do not serve you. I think I have given myself permission not to have to struggle with some of the arm balances, and there is such relief in this!
