I am so thrilled to have found this. I started YogaAnytime last year and have been so happy with it! But.... my arm/shoulder started giving me trouble. It got worse. I continued to push through with almost daily practice. Even reached out through messaging on this site. Finally went to a chiropractor and after taking off 3 weeks, it's finally starting to get much better. But I've experienced a fear - "oh great, now I can't do yoga in a home practice anymore." I've been afraid of how to restart. Then I saw this show advertised and realized this is where I needed to start. A gift!
Suzanna, I'm so happy to know this show can be useful to you. Many times over the years I've had to go back to the basics and work verrrry gently for a while. I found I would often learn things I needed to carry on in those times, subtle awarenesses that hadn't been apparent when I was working out. So I wish you all the best on this journey, with love, Patricia
You're welcome Christel, I'm happy this talk continues to inspire and inform you - I was just thinking I should look at it again, so thanks for reminding me! with Love, Patricia
Patricia, I loved this talk. I have just emailed the group to ask them to help me find shows that will help me figure out how to deal with severe arthritis in my spine and happened on your show this morning. Your wise talk has given me hope. I look forward to journeying with you for the rest of the season.
Hi Sam, I hope you were able to find some of the shows from the YogaRx classes that were helpful. Not all of them would be suitable for you but some of them for sure. P
Hi. I am new to yoga and recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Do I just go through your series of yoga sessions? How many times should I repeat each session before moving on to the next.
Glenda, Hi - when working with a particular a video, practice what is offered very carefully to see how you feel with it. Both while doing the movements and how you feel afterwards, which includes the next day. I don't think they're organized in a particular way for the beginner, and for everyone the arthritis shows up differently. Maybe pick out several to practice for a few days in a row, always assessing how you feel. Then you can play with several more, also for a few days in a row. Over time you'll get the feel for what you need and how often. Some of the work may feel easy and others may feel too difficult for you. Try to stay wide open and stay gentle with yourself. Please feel free to contact me again if more questions arise. I'll get back to you right away!
Just thinking, how it might be useful to have a class on yoga and aging. Knowing each body will age differently, still there are common denominators that would be helpful to address.
Hi Christel, I kind of wonder if there isn't something like this already on Yoga Anytime. Regardless, it could be useful to contact the folks there to make this suggestion, and to ask them to point you towards anything already up that might serve you. Many thanks! Love, P
