(waves crashing) Welcome. I'm Denise Antonini. In this season we're bringing you practices to help uplift your mood and energy. We all experience times in our lives where we face difficult challenges that influence our well-being and as a therapist and as a yoga instructor, I found that yoga practices can be designed to really help us out of these places so I put together some sequences specifically for clearing out morning brain fog for uplifting our mood, for energizing, for finding a sense of calm and returning to our center. I've even created a set of practices for once the struggle to get out of bed for morning practice and I practice for times were it seems like it's just too much of an effort to do a regular practice.

So while we don't control our genetics, we don't control the things that happen in our lives, we don't even control the things that occur to us, that cross our minds. We do have control over how we respond to situations that happen and we do have control over what we focus on. I'm so glad you're here. Thank you for joining me on these practices and I look forward to hearing from you about how they go.

Her approach is gentle yet mindful and informative. She addresses some core inner issues with depression that are often ignored in medical settings.
Denise Antonini
I appreciate your insights Oceanna! It is my hope that by finding a state of well-being each time we return to our practice, we each feel empowered to take control over moods we sometimes feel helpless to do anything about.
Oceanna M
Yah, I'm noticing a connection between empowerment and finding a way out of depression. I think finding a pathway into a space of light-hearted openness might bring some of the hurt, suppressed emotions to the surface as well.
Denise Antonini
Yes, exactly. Each time you practice or meditate, the pathway to a sense of spaciousness and as you mentioned, "light-hearted openness," becomes stronger. You then are in a safe space you have created, one that you can access when you need it.
