(ocean sounds) Greetings, I'm David Garrigues. Thank you for your interest in my video course on Ashtanga yoga. In this season, you'll enter into a step by step study of the primary series as a means of gaining knowledge of the eight limbs of yoga. Through practicing along with me in these videos you'll learn a sequence of postures that draws from all the major categories of Hatha yoga. Including sun salutations, standing postures, seated forward bends, twists, and inversions.

Each episode stands alone. I take you through a set of postural exercises that will delight and challenge you both mentally and physically. But equally important, each episode builds on the previous one. And by the end of the course you'll have learned a complete sequence that you can use for your personal practice and that will also give you a strong foundation in Hatha yoga. I offer step by step guidance in each posture.

Offering alternatives, modifications, ways to make the posture more or less challenging as suits you. So I've set up a fun and dynamic learning environment. Doing this practice will make your body strong, purify the energetic circuitry, bring skillful breathing, and give you the prize of mind control, internal awareness. So as part of our study we'll investigate how to use the Hatha yoga techniques to perceive the eight limbs as a set of principles to live by. So these eight principles are: the power to say no, the power of positive action, belly power, breathing power, the power of recovering your senses, the power of mind control, the power of intuition and creativity, and the power of coming to a spiritual identity.

Lastly I'm thrilled to share this video course with you, as we're entering into a deep study of the sublime yoga teachings. So I welcome you to join in furthering your yoga journey. Namaste.
