It's very easy to step away from the things that we know are good for us. For me, what kept me from going to the beach for a really long time was not allowing myself the time to just be and relax. You know, I was so caught up in the doing that I wasn't allowing myself to be in the being. My mom and my sister and, you know, pretty much everyone in my family, they can just like sit. And I'd be like, how are you, how are you doing this?
How are you just sitting at the beach all day? Like I gotta go do something, you know? And then I realized that this was such a beautiful secret that they were indulging in and now I just treasure those moments where I can sit on the beach with my mom and my sister. I think in our yoga practice, we touch into this quality of delight and ease and those savoring moments. What a gift to be able to actually allow that for myself now.
