Happy Spring Equinox. So glad you're here with us. So the equinox is believed to be the time when we have equal time with the sun and the moon. So it's a special auspicious time in which the yogi can perhaps maybe find the balance that already is. And so we're friends in real life and we thought it would be fun to get together to share some of our favorite parts of the practice, put them together and create three practices that you might be with us in today. So in each of the practices I'll be sharing some breath work.
In the good morning sun I'll be sharing a fiery inspirational breath to get up and go. In the high noon practice I'll be sharing a breath that's designed to find that tweener, that balance, that central channel. And in the evening I'll be sharing a breath practice that's designed for cooling, rest and ending the day. I'll be sharing 27 sun salutations, so variations of Surya Namaskar A, B and C, really moving at our own pace with our breath. The practices are designed to encourage and build some heat and inspiration, again moving at your own pace and having some fun while we're at it.
And I'm going to be sharing some chanting with you. So in the morning we're going to chant the sun and awaken and honor the energy of the sun, Surya. In the evening I'm going to share a salute to the moon with you known as Chandra Namaskar. I love the sequence, it's flowing and I find it sort of calms my whole system, it's very focused on the hips and the legs. So it brings the energy down from the mind down into the feet and the legs and for me sort of leads me into rest, into the evening wind down towards sleep.
So I'm so grateful to be here with these beautiful beings and with you to be able to share on this day of the equinox. Thank you. And so rumor has it that it is most auspicious to practice at these tweener points. So in the good morning sun the rumor is that we practice as night becomes day, at that opening of dawn. And the rumor is that we do the noon practice at noon. And the rumor is that we do the evening practice as day becomes night. But don't let that be your excuse for not practicing if you miss those time periods.
We would love to hear from you and how these worked. We're so happy to be here together and we're so happy you're here. Namaste.
