Good Morning Sun

Description

Our morning practice is designed to honor the life giving energy of the sun and allow our inner fire to be stoked. Do all three practices or choose the one(s) that suit you best. Happy Equinox!

Breath of Fire

We begin with the heating and inspiring Kapalabhati Pranayama (Breath of Fire or Skull Shining Breath). Kira guides us through four rounds of 27 with the invitation to do as little or as much as feels correct for you. Let the fire generated fuel your gratitude for the sun.

27 Salutes to the Sun

Alana invites us to move through 27 Sun Salutations, allowing the sun to inspire us from within. With our friend the Ujjayi breath, she joyfully guides through 9 rounds of Surya Namaskar A, 9 variations of Surya Namaskar B, and 9 versions of Surya Namaskar C. She offers modifications, adaptations, empathetic breath, and even moments of rest. The practice demands self-care, surrender, and devotion. Thoughtful participation will result in a lightness of being and joy. Allow for a long savasana.

108 Chants to the Sun

Julia completes our morning practice with 108 rounds of Om Suryaya Namaha (I bow to Energies of the Sun) to honor the compassionate life-giving powers of the sun and illuminate the light within. Chant along with Julia externally or internally.

What is the reason, what should i do? I thought may be as a biginner this practice is too much or too soon for me?! I appreciate your reply .

Hi Sheida, Welcome to Yoga Anytime! We are so glad that you are here. Great question.
It's not uncommon to feel dizzy after coming up to standing from a forward fold. I've sent you an email with things to try, as well as some other videos you might look at. Stay close and let us know how it works for you.

Hi Alana,
Thank you so much for your reply and email. I am trying your suggestions . It works better when I slow down with less repetition , like two or three salutations. The other videos are great too. I will practice with them . I enjoy every step of my journey . Thank you!
Best,
Sheida

Hi Sheida,
You're so welcome. Thank you for reporting back. Great news. Yes, I find slowing down and pausing, with fewer repetition can make a big difference...taking one step and one breath at time. So glad we are in this together. Stay close.
